About Us

Bibliopolis Books have been publishing and selling ebooks on CD-ROM since 2005, originally specializing in local history and genealogy. More recently we have expanded to cover a wider range of subjects and increasingly to offer a variety of formats suitable for ebook readers and hand-held devices. We are a small company, but we pride ourselves on our friendly and efficient service. Our standard dispatch time is within one working day of receiving payment for an order.

Most of our products are available in CD-ROM format and are reprints of old printed books. These are either facsimiles (non-searchable replica copies) or digitized versions (searchable text versions). We also sell a smaller number of unique publications which have never been published in print or digital form before.

In October 2007, we began selling some of our products as downloads by e-mail. They can be obtained directly from us and are cheaper than our CD-ROMs. Simply select the appropriate format when making your payment. Once your payment has been processed, we will send the file to you as an e-mail attachment as soon as we possibly can, so it's very important that you provide a correct e-mail address.

From July 2011, we will also be selling printed books in both antiquarian/second-hand form or as new printed booklets.

If you want to purchase your ebook as a download by e-mail, please select the format you require from the drop-down menu, e.g. PDF by e-mail, epub by e-mail or html by e-mail (the latter two formats will become available increasingly during 2011). Epub and HTML files will be sent zipped, but not PDF files. There is such a variety of software and ebook readers, that we think it's best to advise customers to consult the help provided on their own system, but if you wish to ask us any questions about use and/or compatibilty, please contact us info@bibliopolis.co.uk

  • Currently, we do not store any information about our customers. We may ask you for contact or delivery details but this information will not be kept by us.
  • Please check with the providers of the payment gateway (i.e. Paypal) for their policies on personal information and privacy.

Bibliopolis ebooks contain no executable files (programs) and are safe to use on a computer (PC or Mac.) Bibliopolis Books hold no responsibility for any problems arising from the misuse of our CDs.

NOTE FOR RE-SELLERS. We sell all our products directly to mail order customers. We do not supply our products wholesale nor do we offer goods at a discount for re-sale or on a "sale or return" basis except by individual arrangement with some local and family history societies.
